You may - or may not - know, that right at the back of Union Market is its restaurant. Complete with farmhouse tables and chairs, the restaurant has a laid back market style feel. For the sharper local foodies amongst you, you will also have spotted that it has recently relaunched its restaurant with a new menu and new specials. The specials include butternut squash risotto with sage and Scottish mussels with garlic, shallots, white wine and parsley - with chips. Yum.
The new Autumn menu has been devised by its new head chef, Stuart Powell who has previously worked at Claridges, Bluebird, D&D London and Marco Pierre White. Being a market, much inspiration for the menu is taken from the store's very own food calendar. The market buys its produce from British suppliers and only whatever is in season.
Stuart Powell told us: “By using only ingredients that are readily available to him from the market and that were currently in season he hoped people would feel inspired to try new recipes and set a new trend in what we buy when thinking about food. We should strive to support our British farmers by eating foods that are not only delicious but also in season.”
Union Market is on
