Have your novelty Christmas jumpers at the ready, cheesy festive playlist made and cup (jug) of mulled wine to hand because Fulham has come over all Christmassy.
The Christmas lights are being switched on by the Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham on Friday 25 November at 6pm.
Before that they’ll be carols, Santa’s Grotto and balloon modelling to keep the little ones entertained from 3.30pm. But best of all X Factor 2011 Finalist Sami Brookes is going to be performing. If you get near her can you get her to ask Kelly if we can go for dinner? We think we’d really get on.

If you need to get your Christmas food fix then head down to Eel Brook Common between 15-23 December for a traditional Scandinavian food market. Think Swedish baked goods, Danish beer and mulled wine. There’s also something called a ‘sausage wagon’, we’re not entirely sure what that is but there’s a wealth of jokes to make...
And if that wasn’t enough Christmas cheer for you there are two fab competitions you can enter. The Durell Arms are sponsoring the Odd Man Out competition on the Fulham Road.
Find small household objects in participating shop windows that wouldn’t usually be there (a tin of beans in the butchers, a pair of spectacles in a flower shop etc) and enter to win a hamper of 20+ amazing prizes donated by participating businesses. Pick up a competition form from participating Fulham Road businesses, The Durrell Arms at 704 Fulham Road or download it here.
You’ll also need to rank your top five favourite best dressed Christmas windows on the Wandsworth Bridge Road and there are some beauties! Pick up a competition form from participating WBR businesses, Circus Circus at 176 Wandsworth Bridge Road, Harringtons 154 Wandsworth Bridge Road or download it here.
Now, if someone would just tell us what a ‘sausage wagon’ is...answers on a postcard please.
